The door opens at 6:30 am, Monday through Friday, which is early enough to hand over and still make a commute east. Breakfast is served here, so nobody has to manage it twice.
Our days
Nothing at GaGa's House runs on a bell. This is Anita's own list of what fills a day, in the order a small child tends to meet it.
In Anita's words
Her full list, unedited: laughter, stories, fresh air, creativity, discovery, exercise and downtime, songs and dancing, sharing, building block towers and friendships, lots of love.
The door opens at 6:30 am, Monday through Friday, which is early enough to hand over and still make a commute east. Breakfast is served here, so nobody has to manage it twice.
Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided — you don't pack them. Anita also likes to bake homemade cookies, which is not on any curriculum and is entirely the point.
Reading and crafts are two of the four things Anita names when she describes herself. Stories happen because she likes reading them, not because a schedule calls for literacy time.
With three children of different ages in one room, sharing isn't an abstract lesson — it's the only way the tower gets built. Friendships form the same way.
Downtime is on Anita's list alongside exercise and dancing. Quiet is part of the day rather than a gap in it, which matters a great deal when the youngest is six weeks old.
The only item she capitalized. It is the last thing on her list and, by her own account, the most important thing on it.
